PIKA is one of our more recent death row dogs. She is almost 2 years old, spayed, up to date on shots, and heartworm positive. She is young, her HW is mild, and can be easily treated. We picked her up on her last day in the shelter. Unfortunately, there just isn’t enough space to hold dogs long-term. Pika was up for adoption for 2 months. She was very anxious and shut down in the shelter environment which made people look right past her when they came for a companion.

Almost as soon as she got to foster Pika became a new dog. She LOVES to play with other dogs and has already bonded to her foster mom. She is just SO thrilled to be out in the fresh air playing with friends. Pika is very smart and highly trainable. She is gentle and has done well with dogs, cats, and humans.
We need for PIKA to find her way home. Where she can finally relax and so we can have the space to help the long list of other dogs in need. Pika has an opportunity to travel from St Croix to a stateside home next week! Her transportation costs and arrangements will be covered by Ruff Start. To apply please email ruffstartadoptions@gmail.com or message us on Facebook.
